 This house was a real surprise to me when I first saw it. Elegant and imposing from the front, yet I had no idea that at the back of the house was a huge reception room (100mē)with sliding glass doors leading to a spacious terrace area around the heated swimming pool (12m x 4.5m).At the end of the driveway are electric gates, operated by an intercom system. The front door opens into a wide entrance hall, to one side of which is a study. Stairs from this hall lead to the four bedrooms. At the end of the corridor is a door to the swimming pool and an archway into the beautifully-fitted kitchen. The cupboard fronts hide a dishwasher, fridge and freezer but there is also a large fitted American-style fridge/freezer. From here, a door leads to the garage and beneath the garage is a very cool cellar. The back of the kitchen opens onto an amazing reception area with an unusual central woodburning stove. One side of this room is a wall of sliding doors opening onto the terrace with its fitted barbecue and swimming pool. Perfect for parties! The garden is largely laid to lawn with fruit trees and an ornamental pond. To the side of the house is a summer house and a flat piece of land which would make a lovely tennis court. Heating is via fuel central heating (the owners have just had a new boiler fitted) and underfloor heating and woodburner in the reception area. This room also has air-conditioning fitted, as does the kitchen. There is double glazing throughout and electric blinds on all the upstairs windows. The property is in a beautiful situation, set back from the banks of the Canal du Midi and just a few hundred metres from the lovely walks and picnic area of the Seuil de Naurouze. 30 minutes from Toulouse airport and 40 minutes from Carcassonne airport.
